Fritillary

Published in Yarn Forward issue 12 (also available in the e-book Wearable Lace)

When I saw the colours of this yarn it reminded me straight away of the species of butterfly know as ‘Fritillary’. I have always loved those colours and was excited to make a summer top in the very same colour pallet. To match the wonderful colours I had the good fortune to find the very fitting Butterfly Lace pattern. Easy to memorise lace that is not too fussy. This is a top you will get plenty of wear from in the season to come.

Knitted from the top down all you will have to do when you are finished is weave in the ends and block. Couldn’t be simpler!

I used an interesting variation on the 3-needle bind off to creating the cross-over below the bust line, instead of binding off front and back stitches are just knit together. This leaves you with no sewing together to do at the end of the project.
